Work with us

A small amount of client work, alongside the products.

Most of the week goes into Reamly and the two WordPress plugins. The rest is available — the same person who writes those does the client work, which is the point of it and also the limit on how much there can be.

What we take on

Three things, because those are the three we are good at.

If what you need is outside these, we will say so rather than take it on and learn on your budget.

Shopify apps and store work

Public and custom apps, embedded admin work, and the parts of a store that need code rather than a theme setting.

  • Custom or public Shopify apps
  • App Store submission and review fixes
  • Theme and checkout customisation
  • Tax, invoicing and document problems

WordPress plugins and site work

Plugin development to the standard the directory expects, and the unglamorous work of making an existing site behave.

  • Custom plugins, and plugins for the WordPress.org directory
  • Custom themes, no page builder
  • Diagnosing a site that breaks and nobody knows why
  • Performance and clearing out plugin bloat

SEO

The technical half done properly, and content that answers a real question rather than filling a word count.

  • Technical audits — indexing, structured data, Core Web Vitals
  • Search Console diagnosis when traffic moves
  • Content that targets what people actually search
  • Fixing a migration that lost rankings

How it works

Four steps, and the first two cost nothing.

You email

What is wrong, or what you want built. A paragraph is enough — no form with eleven fields.

You get a straight answer

Whether it is something we should do, roughly what it involves, and whether there is a cheaper way you could do it yourself.

A scope and a price

Written down before anything starts, so neither of us is guessing what “done” means.

It gets built

By the person who answered your email. You are not handed to anyone, because there is nobody to hand you to.

Worth saying

When the answer is no.

01 When the queue is full
The products come first, so there is a limit on how much client work fits. If there is no room you will be told that, with a date, rather than strung along.
02 When you do not need us
A fair amount of what people ask for is a setting, a free plugin, or half an hour of their own time. Being told that costs you an email and saves you a budget.
03 When it is outside these three
Mobile apps, branding, paid ads, anything needing a team. We will say so rather than take it on and learn on your budget.
04 What we do not do on a client site
No page builders unless one is already there and you want it kept. No tracking added without telling you what it collects. No leaving you unable to maintain what was built.

Tell us what you need.

A paragraph about the problem is plenty. You will get a real answer, including if that answer is that you should not hire anyone.
